Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali City Tour

On the first day of the 4 days combined Rwanda chimp and gorilla tracking safari, you will be picked up by Go Safaris Africa driver/ guide from Kigali airport and embark on a Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali memorial genocide museum in Gisozi the famous resting grounds for the victims of the genocide which occurred between the Tutsi and the Hutu in Rwanda. After an appetizing lunch, you will head to Nyungwe forest and reach Nyanza in the evening hours. Check-in at the reserved hotel for dinner and retire for a night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk

With a fully served flavoursome breakfast and packed lunch, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the rules and regulations of the forest. Under the guidance of not more than six trackers, you will manoeuvre into the dense tall forests in search of man’s closest cousin this session takes 2-8 hours and a one-hour interaction upon encounter of learning their behaviours, communication, breastfeeding and shelter. During the hike, you will be told interesting stories about the chimps and the jungle will offer additional rewards for other primate species encountered these include a silver monkey, Rwenzori Colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, L’hoest monkey, owl-faced monkey, olive baboon, vervet monkey, Angola monkeys and many others. Return to the lodge for refreshment and head for a canopy walk with the magical sights of the forest after continuing to Ruhengeri take a glance at the three volcanic mountains reaching Volcanoes national park’s endangered mountain gorilla habitat in the evening. Check-in at the reserved hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park

Appetizing meal at dawn, with your packed lunch you will be picked up by the driver at the lodge and head to Kinigi at volcanoes national park to the park headquarters for briefing and follow up with the ranger into the great search for man’s second closet cousin the gorilla in the tropical rainforest in the group. The session will take 2-8 hours of hiking into the great forest with a one-hour interaction. What is great about this safari is that you will be allowed to take photos and do video recordings to take back home for remembrance. At the end of the trek, you will be rewarded with a certificate and then head back to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner and retirement for a night.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali

After a fully flavoursome breakfast at the lodge and relaxation, you will be driven back to Kigali airport to catch your flight back to your home country.
