Tour Overview

Primate tracking is the selling tourism product in the pearl of Africa with gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable park and Mgahinga national park and chimpanzee tracking at Kibale national park. A tour without a visit to these primate destinations will be incomplete. However, there are other breathtaking attractions which are a must-see while on your safari in Uganda, for example, tree climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth national park, the magical Murchison falls national park and innumerable wildlife species.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: transcend to Murchison falls

On the first day of the 6 days wildlife and chimpanzee safari in Uganda, you will be picked up by a Go safaris’ Africa professional guide driver and head northwest of Uganda to Murchison falls national park via Luweero, Nakasongola to  Masindi. You will have an en-route lunch in Masindi town and observe its urban setting as you get to do a little shopping to help throughout the safari. You will have a glimpse of the Budongo forest entering through the Kichwamba Nyobo gate. Visit the Top of the falls for a magical natural experience as you get to observe water squeezing through a narrow gorge forming a beautiful rainbow and a misty surrounding. Later drive to the reserved hotel for dinner and a night stay.

Day 2-Game drive – launch cruise in Murchison Falls

After an early appetizing breakfast, you will cross the Nile River with the ferry at 7 am and get into the Game trails in search of wildlife game expect to see waterbucks, Jackson’s Heart beasts, Buffalos, Giraffes, Elephants, Hyenas, Uganda Kobs, Lions, Leopards Warthogs, Oribis, Hippos etc. Then get back to your lodge for a refreshing moment, lunch and get ready for a 3hrs launch cruise on the great River Nile with chances of getting close to Aquatic life such as Crocodiles, Hippos, aquatic birds and other creatures like Elephants, buffalos river banks drinking water and wallowing. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and retire for a night.

Day 3 – transfer to Kibale National Park.

After a meal at dawn, you will transfer to Kibale national park via Bulisa town passing Lake Albert and stop over at the Rift valley escarpment for a glance. Lunch will be served at a hotel in Hoima and continue via Kyenjojo town and fort portal to the land of chimpanzees. Check-in at the reserved hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Chimpanzee Tracking

Wake up very early for a hot breakfast and head to the park headquarters for forest briefing at around 7:00 am. You will learn about the tracking does and don’ts and then be added to your tracking group of 6 members and subjected to your tracking sector. It’s a 6-8 hours session with 1-hour interaction upon contact. Expect to encounter other wildlife species in the forest, bird species, rare tree species, insects and other primates. You will carry with you a packed lunch to be taken in the Jungle. Head back to the hotel for refreshments, dinner and a night’s sleep.

Day 5 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Drive through the local villages near the crater lakes and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park the land of climbing lions southwest of Uganda in the Ishasha sector. Check-in at the reserved lodge as you prepare to have lunch and get ready for a 2hr Boat ride on Lake Edward/George long Kazinga Channel to experience the sea breeze and get rid of the fatigue accumulated along the journey. Head back to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 6- Drive back to Kampala.

After morning breakfast, head for a morning game drive to get a sight of the wild beasts roaming around in the jungle and drive back to Kampala via Mbarara. Lunch will be served at a reserved hotel and reach Kampala to catch up with your flight or rest at the hotel.
