Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet your Go Safaris Africa guide for a warm welcome. Take an optional Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, before embarking on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the evening and relax.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up early for an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure. After a briefing at the park headquarters, set off into the misty rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Spend one magical hour observing these incredible primates before trekking back. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to experience Rwandan traditions and local performances.

Day 3: Dian Fossey Hike & Karisoke Research Center

This trek takes you through beautiful rainforest trails while learning about her groundbreaking work in protecting these endangered primates. Return to the lodge in the afternoon for relaxation or an optional nature walk.

Day 4: Return to Kigali & Departure
