These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Go Safaris Africa website at www.gosafarisafrica.com and any safari services booked through us. By using our website or booking a safari with us you agree to these terms.

1. About Us

Go Safaris Africa Ltd is a licensed safari operator registered in Rwanda and based in Kigali.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only when we have received your deposit and issued a written confirmation by email. Until that point availability cannot be guaranteed.

2.2 Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total safari cost is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due 60 days before your departure date.

2.3 Late Bookings

For bookings made within 60 days of departure full payment is required at the time of booking.

2.4 Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permits

Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are purchased on your behalf from the Rwanda Development Board or Uganda Wildlife Authority. Permit costs are non-refundable once purchased. We will advise you of the permit cost and obtain your written approval before purchase.

2.5 Payment Methods

We accept payment by bank transfer credit card and through our secure online payment partner Pesapal. All prices are quoted in US dollars unless otherwise stated.

3. Cancellation Policy

3.1 Cancellation by You

3.2 Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permits

Gorilla and chimpanzee permits follow the cancellation policies of the Rwanda Development Board and Uganda Wildlife Authority respectively. These are separate from our own cancellation policy and may result in additional non-refundable charges.

3.3 Cancellation by Us

In the unlikely event that Go Safaris Africa must cancel your safari due to circumstances beyond our control (natural disaster political instability or force majeure) we will offer a full refund of all monies paid to us excluding any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf.

3.4 Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation medical evacuation and permit non-refundability. This is considered essential for all our safari bookings.

4. Changes to Bookings

4.1 Changes by You

Changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability and may incur administration fees. Gorilla and chimpanzee permit date changes are subject to availability and the policies of the relevant park authority.

4.2 Changes by Us

We reserve the right to make minor changes to itineraries where circumstances require — for example changing accommodation of equivalent or higher standard or adjusting the order of activities. We will always notify you of any significant changes as soon as possible.

5. Your Responsibilities

5.1 Health and Fitness

You are responsible for ensuring you are physically fit for the activities you have booked. Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking require moderate physical fitness. You must not trek if you have a cold flu or any contagious illness — this is both a park rule and an ethical responsibility to protect the wildlife.

5.2 Travel Documents

You are responsible for ensuring you have a valid passport visa yellow fever vaccination certificate and all other required travel documents for the countries you will visit.

5.3 Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all our safaris. You must have insurance covering medical evacuation gorilla permit cancellation and trip interruption before your departure.

5.4 Behaviour

You agree to follow all instructions from our guides rangers and park authorities at all times. Failure to follow wildlife encounter rules — particularly regarding minimum distances from gorillas and the prohibition of flash photography — may result in removal from the trek without refund.

5.5 Age Requirements

The minimum age for gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking is 15 years. It is your responsibility to ensure all members of your group meet this requirement.

6. Our Responsibilities

6.1 What We Promise

We will provide the services described in your booking confirmation to the best of our ability using experienced professional guides well-maintained vehicles and carefully selected accommodation.

6.2 Limitations

We cannot be held responsible for:

• Acts of God or force majeure events
• Changes to gorilla permit availability by park authorities
• Security situations that require itinerary changes
• Actions of third-party suppliers (airlines lodges park authorities)
• Personal injury illness or loss of property not caused by our negligence

6.3 Wildlife Encounters

We cannot guarantee specific wildlife sightings including but not limited to gorilla families reaching crossing points or individual species. Wildlife is wild and unpredictable. We will make every effort to maximise your wildlife experience but cannot guarantee specific encounters.

7. Website Use

7.1 Accuracy

We make every effort to ensure information on our website is accurate and up to date. However permit prices park fees and seasonal conditions can change. Always confirm current prices and conditions with us directly before booking.

7.2 Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text photographs and design — is the property of Go Safaris Africa Ltd or used with permission. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without written permission.

8. Privacy

Your personal data is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By booking with us you consent to our use of your data as described in that policy.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Rwanda.
